Dan Tian Gong – Nei Gong Level 1

5-6th October 2018

  • Taught by Damo Mitchell and senior students
  • A two day long event looking at the nature of the lower Dan Tian

One of the key aspects of Nei Gong training is the development and accumulation of the lower Dan Tian. Generally misunderstood within Qi Gong practice, the lower Dan Tian must be formed before it becomes a useful component within your training. To do this a practitioner must understand the various methods and techniques for working with the Dan Tian.

Over this two day long course Damo will teach the theory and philosophy of the lower Dan Tian according to various classical sources and schools. This theory will inform various mental and practical exercises designed to help consolidate and develop the lower Dan Tian to a functional level. The aim of the day is to help students either learn how to develop the lower Dan Tian (if they are new) or how to improve the efficiency of the Dan Tian’s functioning (for those who are more experienced).

Practices will vary according to the needs of the students present and may include:

  • Structural Dan Tian principles
  • Dan Tan Gong exercises
  • Use of the Yi with Dan Tian
  • Dan Tian consolidation exercises
  • Alchemical Dan Tian work
  • Connection of Dan Tian to extremities
  • Absorbing and issuing from Dan Tian

Not all of the above exercises will be covered. The training will depend upon the needs of the students in attendance on the day.

Course Practicalities

The course takes place over two days in Compton Dundon, near Glastonbury in the south of the UK.

Meadway Hall, Ham Lane, Compton Dundon, TA11 6PQ

The cost of the two days training is: 150 euros

The day runs from 9am until 5pm with an hour’s break for lunch. Students should find local accommodation in Glastonbury.

The Nei Gong process taught by Damo Mitchell and Lotus Nei Gong is a classical process and is, at times, very strong. For this reason we do not recommend that anybody with psychological disorders or those with serious medical issues/needs attend these events. There are many ‘medical’ Qi Gong schools out there that would be more appropriate for these kinds of needs. Nei Gong is also not suitable for pregnant women or anybody under the age of 18 years old. Lastly we reserve the right to ask any student to leave the training immediately if we deem the training to be unsuitable for them or a risk to their well-being

Level 1 Events

Level 1 Events are Nei Gong events focusing upon the foundation level skills of building structure, opening the channels, consolidating the lower Dan Tian and purging the body of excess pathogens. If a student trains diligently it can take around three years of training at this level to build a solid foundation. It is these courses that are open to the public though it is worth noting that they tend to fill up very quickly so you should book early to avoid disappointment.
