Damo has studied the eastern systems for many years and as such his training has included martial arts, medicine, internal practices, meditation and many adjuncts to these including arts such as Feng Shui and the use of the Yi Jing. In an effort to preserve these practices in a rounded manner Lotus Nei Gong teaches with an equal emphasis upon all areas of practice. We are not purely a Qi Gong school and neither are we a school of just martial arts. We are a school aiming to help people pursue a path of self-cultivation and inner development though the medium of the Chinese arts. Damo’s belief is that the path to Dao can be found through any of these arts and ultimately their message is always the same even if the ‘roadmap’ is somewhat different.
Qi Gong & Nei Gong
The core of Daoist practice and indeed the Lotus Nei Gong school is Qi Gong alongside the deeper process of Nei Gong. To awaken, circulate and build the Qi of the body is the process students are led through in order to facilitate a deep process of internal change.
Internal Martial Arts
The internal martial arts of Taijiquan, Baguazhang and Xingyiquan are intricate and profound systems of personal cultivation as well as efficient martial arts. Within the Lotus Nei Gong school we teach these traditional arts in a systematic manner.
Chinese medicine has spread around the world to become one of the most sought after treatments for many conditions. Within Lotus Nei Gong we teach Chinese medicine practices from both the TCM and more Classical approaches. We also run full Diploma courses in the UK.
The rich tradition of Daoism has been the catalyst for the development of numerous arts and practices. Some of these such as Feng Shui, Yi Jing Divination and Dual Cultivation can be studied in order to help place Daoism within the context of the wider world.
